Never before has it been so important to look fashionable while being pregnant. With the worlds leading actresses and celebrities being photographed around the clock looking glamorous in designer jeans and evening gowns while heavily pregnant fashionable women all over the world follow suit. Gone are the days where it was allowed to hide in a tent shaped dress for 9 months when pregnant and the growth of the maternity market has by far overtaken the growth of the ready to wear market in general.

From 2000 till 2005 the maternity fashion market grew with 28% while the overall women’s wear market only grew with 2%. From 2006 till 2007 the maternity market grew with 8.2% while the overall market stagnated.
